Description
The Local Share Account Category 4 Facilities Program directs gaming revenues toward public-interest projects in Pennsylvania counties hosting Category 4 licensed gaming facilities. The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development administers the program through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), under the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, as amended. Its goal is to improve the quality of life of residents in Berks, Cumberland, Westmoreland, and York Counties.
Supported work includes acquisition, construction, demolition, infrastructure, purchases of vehicles and equipment, and planning projects. Projects must be owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or a Pennsylvania nonprofit entity. Public-use sidewalks are eligible regardless of the program’s project ownership requirement.
