Description
The Connecticut State Library administers federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds through its Division of Library Development. The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) allocates these funds to state library agencies using a population-based formula. Connecticut uses its allocation, together with state funding, to support statewide initiatives and services and may distribute funds through library subgrants. The program is administered under Connecticut’s Five-Year Plan for 2023–2027.
Supported work includes continuing education instructors, researchIT CT databases, the findIT CT statewide catalog, the Connecticut Library for Accessible Books, and deliverIT CT vans and drivers. LSTA also supports summer reading, supplementary Service Center collections, and public library statistics. Competitive subgrants documented in the preceding plan period supported literacy programming, sustainable community partnerships, needs assessments, and strategic planning.
