Description
The Ludwig von Sallmann Clinician-Scientist Award is presented by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and supported by an anonymous donor through the ARVO Foundation. First presented in 2011, it recognizes clinician-scientists and honors Ludwig von Sallmann, MD, an ophthalmologist and investigator whose contributions greatly increased the basic and clinical understanding of vision and ophthalmology.
The award is directed toward early- and mid-career clinician-scientists who are invited speakers at the ARVO Annual Meeting. Recipients present a lecture within a scientific session, symposium, or minisymposium, placing their work within the meeting’s scientific program. Recognition includes an honorarium, an inscribed award, and invitations to special meeting events.
