The Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research offers this internship grant to advance the careers of graduate students and postdoctoral investigators studying micropaleontology. It supports opportunities at another institution where investigators can deepen their knowledge and pursue research interests involving any aspect of fossil or living foraminifera and allied organisms. Graduating undergraduates applying to an M.S. or Ph.D. program are also welcome to apply.
The grant honors M. Ruth Todd (1913–1984), a member of the original Joseph A. Cushman laboratory and recipient of the first Cushman award in 1980. Todd was a role model and leader in foraminiferal research. Funding supports the living, travel, and research expenses associated with an internship.
