Description
The MAA Tensor Grant Program, administered by the Mathematical Association of America and funded by the Tensor Foundation, supports projects that provide enriching mathematics experiences for students. The program’s primary goals are to encourage college/university women and pre-college girls to pursue mathematics and to support students from groups historically underrepresented in the mathematical sciences—including Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic or Latino, and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander students. Projects should offer enrichment beyond standard curricula, foster appreciation for mathematics, and nurture sustained interest. Proposals often involve collaborations between higher education faculty and K-12 educators or nonprofits, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and innovative, sustained activities.
