Description
The MAA Tensor Grant Program is administered by the Mathematical Association of America with funding from the Tensor Foundation. It supports mathematics enrichment for middle school, high school, and college or university students, with goals of encouraging women and girls to persist in mathematics and fostering its pursuit and enjoyment among historically underrepresented groups.
Projects should engage students actively in mathematics beyond the standard curriculum, rather than provide remedial coursework assistance. Funding can initiate new projects, enhance existing programs, or adapt evidence-based approaches for local contexts. Activities should reflect participants’ experiences and challenges, build knowledge, confidence, and belonging, and prepare students for continued study. Mentoring is highly desirable, and relevant career information is encouraged. Activities may occur during summer, the school year, weekends, or after school.
