Description
The Macon Area Habitat for Humanity Sustainability Fund supports quality-of-life programming in Habitat focus neighborhoods through the Community Foundation of Central Georgia (CFCG). Macon Area Habitat for Humanity created the fund with funding from The Peyton Anderson Foundation to continue support for Lynmore Estates and extend it to Pleasant Hill and future focus neighborhoods.
The fund builds on Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization model, which responds to community aspirations through services and partnerships that empower residents to improve their neighborhoods. It supports programming open to all residents that has a positive neighborhood impact. Activities that are not one-time events should include a plan for future sustainability. Habitat’s broader neighborhood work has included resident leadership, increased homeownership, blight reduction, and resources for existing residents and homeowners.
