This fellowship honors Maine artists who have demonstrated exceptional artistic achievement and creativity over their careers. The program is not designed to fund specific projects but instead provides an unrestricted award to support the artist’s career as they see fit. Selected fellows also receive year-long professional promotion, networking opportunities, and have their bios featured on the Maine Arts Commission website. Six fellowships are awarded annually, one in each of the following disciplines: Fine Craft, Literary Arts, Media Arts, Performing Arts, Traditional Arts, and Visual Arts.
