Description
The Maine Sea Grant Program Development Funds provide targeted support for innovative pilot projects, proof-of-concept initiatives, and novel approaches that further Maine Sea Grant’s strategic goals. The program aims to seed new ideas that can later be developed into larger proposals, with a focus on projects that advance research, extension, education, or outreach benefiting Maine’s coasts and communities. Funding may also be used for travel or workshops (with restrictions). Preference is given to projects that leverage other funding, introduce innovative methods, or demonstrate potential for measurable impact. All projects must contribute to Maine Sea Grant’s mission and align with its strategic focus areas, including coastal ecosystems, communities and economies, fisheries and aquaculture, and environmental literacy/workforce development.
