Key Information: Applicants must be SRS members and are expected to have obtained primary funding from their institution.
The Society for Renaissance Studies’ Major Conference Grant supports conferences and colloquia whose main purpose is the dissemination of research. Intended to complement the MHRA Conference Grant Scheme, it considers both major international meetings and smaller specialist colloquia, including one-day events. The meeting’s perceived academic value is the overriding priority.
Eligible subjects include history, art, architecture, philosophy, science, technology, religion, music, and the literatures and languages of Europe and countries in contact with Europe during the Renaissance. Support helps organizers meet practical conference costs and bring speakers and participants together. The Society hopes meetings will normally lead to publication in some form, although this grant does not directly fund publication.
