Description
Humanities Nebraska (HN), Nebraska’s affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, offers Major Grants to nonprofit organizations and government entities for public humanities programming. Humanities must be central to the funded work, with at least one humanities subject expert involved in planning or delivery. Projects should encourage interaction, thought, and discussion rather than advocate a specific solution or course of action.
HN prioritizes its “connections” emphasis: linking humanities with non-humanities subjects, building nontraditional partnerships, offering hands-on experiences, facilitating dialogue across differences, and creating innovative digital engagement. Other humanities projects remain eligible. HN encourages programming about diverse and underrepresented groups, with special consideration for statewide reach and audiences underserved by geography or socioeconomic status.
