Description
The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) offers Make Art Grants to practicing artists creating or continuing specific artwork in any discipline. Projects must be initiated and organized by artists outside institutional structures. An artist may work independently or with collaborators on a single piece or a connected series of works with a cohesive theme.
The program supports purposeful art making with defined goals, whether the project builds on an existing practice or explores new ideas, styles, or techniques. Funds can support experimentation, materials, space rental, collaborators, documentation, and artists’ time. Completion or public presentation of the work is not required during the project period.
