The Mālama Honua Disaster Fund (MHDF), administered by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA), provides direct assistance to eligible Native Hawaiian homeowners following the March 2026 Kona Low storm events. It funds disaster-related cleanup and non-structural home repairs for principal residences with minor damage in OHA-identified highly impacted communities across Hawaiʻi.
The fund is part of OHA’s broader work to advance the well-being of the Lāhui by helping Native Hawaiian beneficiaries meet immediate needs, strengthen self-sufficiency, and improve long-term outcomes for their ʻohana and communities. OHA uses available storm impact data and recovery indicators to distribute the limited awards fairly and proportionately across affected islands and communities.
