Description
The American Accounting Association’s Management Accounting Section (MAS) administers this dissertation award, sponsored by the Institute of Management Accountants. The competition recognizes excellence in completed doctoral research in management accounting rather than funding a proposed research project. The 2028 competition will select two recipients: one graduating in 2026 and one graduating in 2027.
Past recognized dissertations have examined management control systems, employee performance, managerial incentives, organizational structure, and accounting information in organizational decisions. Other recognized topics include workforce diversity, telecommuting, employee volunteering, whistleblowing, culture-fit measurement, and control and innovation in multitasking environments. The award honors dissertation authors and recognizes their supervisors.
