Description
The Manuscript Preparation Grants Program at Western Washington University provides funding of up to $2,750 to assist with the preparation and publication of scholarly manuscripts. Eligible expenses include indexing, licensing fees for copyrighted materials, page charges, figure preparation, open-access fees, and professional editing costs for books (but not for journal papers). The program aims to facilitate publication activities that have significant scholarly, professional, or community impact.
Proposals are evaluated based on:
- The likelihood of publication
- The reputation and peer-review standards of the publisher
- Anticipated impact on the discipline, students, and/or broader community
- The opportunity for advancing the applicant's professional scholarship
