Description
The Bial Foundation and the Portuguese Medical Association jointly offer this award in memory of physician and researcher Maria de Sousa. Established in 2021, it supports young Portuguese researchers pursuing scientific projects in Health Sciences. Projects may already be underway or may be about to begin, and each must include an internship at an international centre of excellence.
The award honours Maria de Sousa’s contribution to science and to scientific and academic development in Portugal. It carries forward her commitment to helping emerging scientists pursue their ideas. The next edition is planned for 2027.
