Description
The Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP), Division 54 of the American Psychological Association, offers this annual grant to enable student members to pursue research scholarship in pediatric psychology. Projects may contribute to a master’s or doctoral degree or be independent studies, and must be conducted under a faculty advisor’s supervision.
Supported topics include relationships between psychological and physical well-being in children and adolescents, behavioral and emotional components of disease and treatment, pediatric psychology’s role in pediatric medical settings, and health promotion and illness prevention among children and youth. The program supports proposed research through a winner’s award and a smaller runner-up award. Applications must specifically explain the project’s relevance to pediatric psychology.
