Description
Marisla Foundation, established in 1986 as a private, non-operating charitable institution, awards grants quarterly through its Environment and Human Services programs. The Environment Program promotes biological diversity conservation and sustainable ecosystem management, emphasizing marine and coastal biodiversity. It also supports solutions to health and environmental threats caused by toxic chemicals.
The Human Services Program addresses the needs of women in crisis, focusing on physical, emotional, and mental health and financial wellbeing. Supported work includes stable housing, addiction treatment, empowerment of adult and child domestic violence survivors, and vocational training. A separate Special Interests category supports proposals invited by the foundation’s Board of Directors.
