The Martin Allgöwer Memorial Fellowship provides practicing North American orthopedic or general surgeons specializing in trauma surgery with an immersive educational experience at a European AO trauma clinic. The fellowship, lasting one to six months, is designed to foster advanced clinical training in orthopedic trauma and to promote the exchange of ideas, techniques, and best practices between North American and European clinical practitioners. Fellows will actively participate in the trauma service at the host clinic, have exposure to challenging cases, and are expected to share their perspectives with their European counterparts. A report on the fellowship experience is required at the end of the program.
