Key Information: Only speakers registered to attend the whole Colloquium will be supported.
The Martin Burr Travel Bursary is administered by the Henry Sweet Society for the History of Linguistic Ideas, an international learned society devoted to the history of linguistics and linguistic thought. It helps postgraduates, early career scholars and other deserving candidates meet travel costs associated with attending and presenting papers at the Society’s annual Colloquium.
The scheme supports participation in this annual gathering rather than a separate research project. Up to two bursaries are normally awarded each year to participants presenting papers. Preference is normally given to applicants who have not previously received the bursary, and support is limited to speakers registered to attend the whole Colloquium.
