The Mary-Kay Gamel Outreach Prize is an annual award from the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) that honors outstanding projects or programs by SCS members which make aspects of classical antiquity accessible and appealing to audiences beyond academic specialists or students in their courses. The prize encourages creative engagement with the ancient world through any medium—such as film, performance, public events, websites, podcasts, visual arts, or print—that delivers contemporary scholarship to the broader public. Priority is given to projects that engage community concerns in a sustained and meaningful way.
