Description
The Maryland Agricultural Water Quality Cost-Share (MACS) Program offers grants to assist Maryland farmers with the costs of installing best management practices (BMPs) that reduce soil erosion, manage nutrients, and protect water quality in streams, rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay. Administered by the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA), MACS supports over 40 eligible conservation practices—including grassed waterways, streamside buffers, animal manure management systems, fencing, and more. The program is designed to address nonpoint source pollution from agricultural activities and to promote long-term environmental stewardship and sustainable farming across Maryland.
