The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) funds organizations and partnerships that build and scale career pathways, upskill incumbent workers, modernize training equipment and infrastructure, and expand instructor capacity. The program addresses workforce gaps in occupations needed to achieve Massachusetts’ emissions-reduction and net-zero goals, while helping residents access high-quality careers.
Projects should center employer and participant needs, engage employers throughout program design and delivery, and leverage existing workforce development systems. Priority areas include clean heating and cooling, electrification, and clean transportation, although other climate-critical occupations are welcome. Alongside funding, MassCEC provides technical assistance, partnership-development support, roundtables, best-practice briefings, and in-person convenings.
