    Description

Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) provides direct funding and technical assistance to organizations building and scaling inclusive pathways into climate-critical occupations. The program addresses workforce shortages and systemic barriers that exclude underserved people from clean energy employment, supporting Massachusetts’ emissions goals and Net Zero in 2050.

Supported projects include career training leading to employment or advancement, adult training preparedness, pre-apprenticeships, Learn and Earn models, and planning or capacity-building projects. Programs should combine employer engagement, workforce development partnerships, and wraparound services to support high-quality careers. Target populations include residents of burdened or low-income communities, members of Federally recognized or State-acknowledged tribes, people underrepresented in clean energy, and current or former fossil fuel workers.
