    Description

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) School Bus Fleet Deployment Program provides flexible funding and technical assistance to Massachusetts public school districts and partnered private transportation contractors. Round 5 supports projects at any stage of fleet electrification, with or without federal funding. It addresses upfront vehicle and infrastructure costs, depot improvements, operational planning, and coordination with transportation providers.

The program aims to demonstrate feasible, equitable models for fleet electrification, reduce fossil fuel emissions, and address health and economic disparities. Awardees receive specialized project management support and may opt into complimentary technical assistance for financial assessments, procurement, infrastructure installation, and early operations. MassCEC prioritizes projects benefiting Burdened Areas, Gateway Cities, Environmental Justice communities, and other historically underserved populations.
