Due Dates: November 2, 2026 (RFI responses) | June 30, 2029 (Expected future RFP closing)

Funding Amounts: No immediate funding award; RFI informs future funding opportunities in Winter 2027

Summary: MassCEC seeks input on coordinated equipment purchasing to strengthen and expand climate-critical workforce training across Massachusetts.

Key Information: The current opportunity is an information-gathering survey, not a funding application.

    Description

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s Workforce Development Department is exploring a streamlined procurement initiative for organizations delivering climate-critical workforce training across Massachusetts. Through this Request for Information (RFI), MassCEC seeks feedback on equipment needs, purchasing practices, implementation challenges, and emerging technology trends. Coordinated purchasing could improve equipment access and pricing, reduce administrative burdens, and support consistent training standards.

The planned program would help providers grow and strengthen existing training programs and expand into new clean energy pathways. Equipment areas include HVAC and heat pumps, building electrification, electrical trades, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, renewable energy systems, energy efficiency and building performance, and emerging clean energy technologies. Responses will inform future purchasing strategies, vendor agreements, workforce investments, and equipment lists.
