Key Information: Lead Applicants must have a Massachusetts office, and programming must be in-person or hybrid.
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) provides direct funding and technical assistance to expand students’ and young adults’ knowledge of, interest in, and access to climate-critical careers. The program aims to build a stronger, more diverse Massachusetts clean energy workforce through career exploration, navigation, preparedness, occupational training, and compensated climate service.
Four strands support implementation or planning and capacity building. Programming targets young people from Environmental Justice neighborhoods, Burdened Areas, or low-income communities, tribal communities, underrepresented clean energy workforce populations, and current or former fossil fuel workers. Priorities include employer engagement, measurable learning and skill gains, clear next steps into education or careers, and wraparound services addressing participation barriers. Curriculum development must complement rather than duplicate MassCEC’s existing career awareness curriculum.
