Description
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) administers MassEVIP Fleet Vehicles to help Massachusetts public entities acquire electric fleet vehicles and make electric vehicles more widespread across the state. Eligible entities include municipalities, state agencies, public colleges and universities, and other public entities.
The program provides incentives for purchases and leases of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), as well as purchases of zero emission electric motorcycles (ZEMs). Funding supports vehicle acquisition rather than charging infrastructure, which is covered through separate programs. MassDEP reviews applications, completes contracting, and pays incentives either to eligible statewide-contract vendors or directly to recipients.
