Description
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) administers the MassEVIP Workplace and Fleet Charging Program to help employers and fleet operators acquire and install electric vehicle charging infrastructure. It supports charging employees’ personal EVs at work and charging fleet vehicles at non-residential business locations in Massachusetts, including eligible mixed-use properties.
The program funds new, hard-wired Level 1 or Level 2 AC charging stations and Level 1 DC stations up to 36 kW. Its equipment requirements emphasize energy efficiency, safety certification, and compatibility with multiple vehicle manufacturers. Grants reimburse a portion of eligible project costs, with different coverage for utility make-ready participants. Recipients must make stations operational and maintain them for three consecutive years after meeting all program requirements.
