Description
Match on Main is administered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to help new and expanding place-based small businesses launch, grow, or stabilize operations in Michigan’s downtowns and commercial corridors. Eligible community organizations select businesses through a documented local process and administer grants on their behalf. The program aims to activate vacant or underused space, encourage private investment, create or retain jobs, and strengthen local economies.
Projects may include technical assistance and design, interior renovations, permanent or semi-permanent outdoor space activation, marketing, technology and point-of-sale systems, and inventory for retail goods. Funding reimburses eligible expenses within the approved project scope.
