Description
The Matching Grant program, administered by the Rhode Island Science and Technology Advisory Council (STAC), provides state matching funds to Rhode Island small businesses that have secured federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I or Phase II awards. The goal is to leverage state resources to boost the impact of federal research dollars, support the growth of innovative startups, and strengthen the state's talent pipeline, particularly in life sciences and engineering. The grant is intended to help companies advance through early-stage product and technology development, increase their competitiveness, and encourage the commercialization of new ideas.
