Description
The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism administers Matching Grants through its Outdoor Recreation Grants Program. The program helps incorporated municipalities and counties in Arkansas expand public outdoor recreation opportunities through facility construction, renovation or replacement; land acquisition; or projects combining acquisition and development. Acquisition can support a new park, an existing park or a conservation area with public access.
Projects must fit at least one priority in Arkansas’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. The program evaluates project quality, demonstrated need and available funding. Its FY27 application redesign places greater emphasis on project readiness, community engagement, SCORP alignment and high-priority, natural-resource-based recreation.
