Jointly funded by the Materials Today Family of journals and the Elsevier Foundation, the Materials Today Agents of Change Awards recognize individuals and teams taking practical steps toward a more inclusive materials science research community. The awards reflect Materials Today’s commitment to a more equitable workplace for materials scientists and its belief that a broad range of perspectives strengthens scientific advances.

The program supports initiatives and programs that identify a community need and show whom they serve, what they aim to achieve, and any progress so far. Reviewers also consider how the funding would help, the initiative’s potential impact, and how the work could continue beyond the initial grant.
