This fellowship enables early-career general thoracic surgeons to undertake a short-term (up to four weeks) educational experience at another institution, either within North America or internationally. The goal is to foster professional development by learning novel surgical techniques, adapting new technologies, and building collaborations that advance general thoracic surgery at the recipient’s home institution. Fellows may select their own mentor or choose from a list provided by the Thoracic Surgery Foundation, with the mentor expected to facilitate the fellow’s growth.
