    Description

    This opportunity provides support for individual investigators through a single grant, allowing them to pursue research within the scientific mission of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). The program aims to:

    • Increase funding stability for NIGMS-supported investigators,
    • Enhance flexibility to pursue new research directions,
    • Broaden the distribution of funding among talented investigators,
    • Reduce administrative and application burdens,
    • Enable more time for mentoring junior scientists.

    Applications are invited from eligible NIGMS-funded investigators and new investigators proposing research aligned with the NIGMS mission. Renewal applications are also accepted from current MIRA grantees (excluding current Early-Stage Investigators, who should apply through the ESI MIRA NOFO).
