    Description

    Mayo Clinic’s one-year Autonomic Disorders Fellowship in Scottsdale, Arizona, combines specialized clinical training with opportunities for scientific investigation. Fellows evaluate and manage complex outpatient cases and learn to perform and interpret studies in the Autonomic Reflex Laboratory. Clinical experience includes autonomic neuropathies and ganglionopathies, central autonomic disorders, pure autonomic failure, baroreflex failure, orthostatic intolerance, POTS, small fiber neuropathies, and pain syndromes with autonomic manifestations.

    The program offers close mentorship, laboratory and statistical support, and clinical research opportunities shaped by fellows’ professional interests and capabilities. Related experiences include movement disorders, peripheral neuropathy, and headache disorders. Led by Karissa Arca, M.D., the fellowship emphasizes individualized education, evidence-based decision-making, collaborative care, and patient needs. Eight weeks of elective time, departmental conferences, and teaching opportunities complement clinical training.
