Description
The Mayo Clinic Fellow Leadership Academy is an annual professional development program for fellowship-level trainees nearing the end of training. It prepares fellows to move into faculty positions and leadership roles in academic medicine, clinical practice, and healthcare innovation. Participants learn through interactive workshops, conversations with executive and academic leaders, and networking across subspecialties.
The curriculum covers financial literacy and budget management, strategic decisions, meeting facilitation, public speaking, authentic leadership, contract evaluation and negotiation, and building a sustainable academic career. Fellows also explore how to establish a research program. The program comprises four half-day sessions between September and May, with focused content, exercises, and opportunities to question invited leaders.
