Description
The British Heart Foundation’s MBPhD Studentships support research projects undertaken within university MBPhD schemes. Awards combine support for the student’s studies with costs directly attributable to the proposed investigation, including research consumables and travel to present findings or attend relevant scientific meetings. Studentships last two to three years, according to the university’s scheme.
The scheme supports a defined investigation with an original hypothesis, background evidence and pilot data, an experimental design, power calculations and an explanation of the expected value of the results. Supervisors support the student’s research and training, with collaborators involved where relevant. BHF funds research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart and circulatory conditions, and its Clinical Fellowships Committee decides awards after considering external peer review.
