    Description

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) provides general operating support to nonprofit arts organizations incorporated in its seven-county service region. The category supports ongoing operations rather than a single arts project. Arts centers, community theaters, arts galleries, and dance companies are examples of organizations served by the program. Organizations that include arts as only one part of broader activities are not eligible for this category.

The program supports organizations devoted entirely to arts activities and programming in Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau counties in Minnesota. NWMAC administers the grants, with its Executive Director and Grants Manager overseeing recipients. Funding comes from the Minnesota State Legislature through the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.
