The McNeill-Nott Award, presented by the American Alpine Club in partnership with Mountain Hardwear, honors the memory of Sue Nott and Karen McNeill by supporting amateur female climbers who are pursuing new routes or unclimbed peaks in small, lightweight teams. The award prioritizes exploratory and adventurous mountaineering objectives, emphasizing the spirit of discovery and adventure over technical difficulty.
