Description
This Fulbright Scholar award, sponsored by the Centro Universitario de la Defensa (CUD), supports one visiting professor at the Spanish Naval Academy in Marín, Pontevedra, affiliated with the Universidad de Vigo. The scholar co-teaches undergraduate mechanical, naval, or telecommunications engineering with a local instructor. English-language instruction strengthens future Spanish naval officers’ technical English alongside their engineering education.
The award may be entirely teaching-focused or combine 70% teaching with 30% research. Collaboration with CUD faculty is encouraged, particularly in areas relevant to the Spanish Navy or Ministry of Defense. Research engagement can include seminars and co-advising final degree projects. The exchange also advances Fulbright’s mission of strengthening relationships and international understanding between the United States and other nations.
