Funding Amounts: $2,000 for at least four weeks of clinical training or $4,000 for at least eight weeks of clinical or research training, plus $1,000 travel reimbursement and complimentary ACR Convergence registration

Description
The Rheumatology Research Foundation’s Medical and Graduate Student Preceptorship introduces students to rheumatology through one-on-one, full-time mentorship with an established rheumatology professional. Students may choose a four- or eight-week clinical experience or an eight-week research experience in the broad area of rheumatic disease. The program aims to build interest in rheumatology careers through direct exposure to the field.
Clinical preceptorships are shadowing experiences, not replacements for clinical clerkships: students observe their preceptors rather than manage patients independently. Experiences may include office visits, rehabilitation facility visits, hospital rounds, and conferences. Research preceptorships may include research activities, seminars, rheumatology rounds, and relevant coursework.
