    Description

Medical Research UK, in partnership with UK PET Chemistry, supports skills training and development for UK-based technical staff in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) radiochemistry. The award funds travel and subsistence for activities such as visits to centres of excellence in PET chemistry and attendance at specialist scientific conferences. Visits may take place within the UK or overseas. The aim is to share and acquire skills relevant to PET-based clinical research focused on improving human health.

The scheme is supported by Mrs Cathy Horlock in memory of Peter Horlock, a technical officer in the Medical Research Council Cyclotron Unit’s radiochemistry section. His work advanced the production of cyclotron-produced radiopharmaceuticals for clinical research, particularly PET imaging.
