Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award supports research at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in Dublin, alongside faculty, curriculum, or program development. Scholars conduct a research project of their choosing, collaborate on research protocols, deliver faculty workshops, and contribute 8–12 total hours of specialist lectures on health professions education, pedagogy, or research. Lectures serve an online Diploma course averaging 80 students and/or a medical education audience.
The award emphasizes health professions and medical education, simulation, and professionalism. Preferred specializations also include medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing, dentistry, pharmacology, public health, and translational research. RCSI’s Health Professions Education Centre coordinates professional development and scholarly activity across the health professional lifecycle. The exchange also aims to strengthen U.S.–Irish relationships and promote international understanding through engagement with the host community.
