Key Information: Applicants must be active, current SMB members with at least one year of membership before requesting funds.
The Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) maintains a fund to support scientific meetings organized by its members. Its Board of Directors awards Meeting Grants to promote and facilitate both the organization of, and attendance at, mathematical biology meetings and courses. Funds must preferentially support travel for students and early career researchers.
The program considers the significance of a workshop or meeting, the practical character of a course, and the organization of its mathematical biology program. Review also considers proposed speakers, student participation, the balance between international and local speakers, matching funds, and the event’s location and facilities. Applicants must explain how they will acknowledge the Society’s support.
