Key Information: Each investigator may serve as PI on only one proposal across all mechanisms and special opportunities this cycle.
The Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) funds research that bridges discoveries and near-term clinical applications for people with melanoma or at high risk. This cycle supports early-career and established investigators through Young Investigator, Established Investigator, Academic-Industry Partnership, and Pilot Awards. Projects may develop detection methods, diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers, new treatments, or prevention strategies informed by environmental, epidemiological, and biological factors.
Special opportunities support translational research in acral and uveal melanoma, researchers based in the United Kingdom or Israel, and a Young Investigator Award jointly funded with the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO). Particular emphasis is placed on rare melanoma subtypes, brain metastasis and leptomeningeal disease, biomarkers of treatment response or resistance, and biomarkers identifying primary melanomas at risk of progression.
