Description
The Mental Health Cultural Community Continuing Education Grant for Trainers is administered by the Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC). Authorized by Minnesota Statutes Section 144.1511, it helps mental health professionals from communities of color and underrepresented communities become qualified supervisors for mental health practitioners pursuing licensure. Funding goes to organizations providing free training and support, rather than directly to individual trainees.
The program supports comprehensive training that prepares professionals for board-recognized supervisor status. Curricula must be approved by the respective licensing boards as acceptable coursework and fulfill their continuing education requirements. Funded programs must enable trainees to earn all course credits or continuing education units needed to supervise students and practitioners seeking licensure.
