Description
The Mentored Research Investigator Training (MeRIT) Program, offered by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Foundation, is a comprehensive two-year longitudinal training and mentorship program designed to help pharmacists develop the skills necessary to conduct investigator-initiated research. MeRIT is tailored for pharmacy faculty and practitioners who may have limited research experience but are committed to integrating research into their professional careers.
The program blends live, in-person immersion (a 5-day summer primer), virtual teaching, and ongoing mentorship. Participants receive structured guidance throughout the research process—from developing a research idea and protocol, through IRB submission and data collection, to presenting results and manuscript preparation. The curriculum is designed to help participants build their research themes, generate preliminary data for future funding, and become effective principal or co-investigators within research teams.
