Description
The ACCP Foundation’s Mentored Research Investigator Training (MeRIT) Program helps pharmacists develop the skills to conduct investigator-initiated research independently as principal investigators or as active co-investigators. It is designed for pharmacy faculty and practitioners with limited research experience who want to incorporate research into their careers, develop research themes, or generate preliminary data for larger funding opportunities.
The two-year longitudinal program combines live instruction, webinars, teleconferences, and mentoring to support participants from initial ideas through manuscript publication. Experienced researchers and educators provide guidance in clinical, basic science, health-services, and biostatistical research. The 2027 cohort begins with a live primer at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, followed by research development and implementation at participants’ home institutions.
