Description

The Myositis Association’s Meredith C. Thomas Memorial Fellowship supports disease-specific, targeted research advancing understanding of the cause, prevention, detection, treatment, or cure of antisynthetase syndrome and/or myositis interstitial lung disease. Created in Meredith Thomas’s memory through her family’s Meredith’s Legacy fundraiser, the fellowship supports early-career researchers and clinicians seeking better ways to treat these conditions.

Research may extend beyond medication management to health-related quality of life, including interventions that help patients manage physical symptoms, maintain employment, and navigate mental health and social effects. Priority goes to interdisciplinary, collaborative projects, including partnerships with patients and care partners. Fellows in rheumatology, pulmonology, critical care, and related specialties involved in myositis science and care receive priority.
