Seronegative MG Pilot Grant supports researchers studying disease mechanisms and diagnostic approaches to distinguish seronegative myasthenia gravis from mimicking conditions and improve clinical management.
Funder: Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America
Due Dates: October 16, 2026 (Letter of intent) | November 18, 2026 (Invited full applications)
Funding Amounts: Two awards of up to $125,000 each over two years, including up to $12,500 in indirect costs
Summary: Supports research discovering pathogenic mechanisms and improving diagnosis, differentiation, and clinical management of seronegative myasthenia gravis.
Key Information: Principal investigators must have confirmed faculty status; for-profit and small-business submissions are ineligible.
The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) supports research focused specifically on seronegative myasthenia gravis (MG). This pilot grant seeks discovery of new pathogenic mechanisms and/or development of more accurate diagnostic approaches. Relevant work includes reliably distinguishing seronegative MG from mimicking conditions and improving understanding of how seronegative disease should be clinically managed.
MGFA treats better diagnosis and differentiation as both a biomarker-discovery challenge and a direct patient-safety issue. Proposals should fall within the foundation’s research agenda, which guides research addressing important unmet needs in MG. The opportunity contributes to MGFA’s broader goal of improving the lives of people with MG and related neuromuscular junction disorders.
