Description
The Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program is a competitive state program administered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in collaboration with the departments of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy and Agriculture and Rural Development. It provides funding and technical assistance for work on terrestrial and aquatic invasive species. The program is available in years when the state legislature appropriates funding.
Projects should address prevention, early detection and response, limiting the spread of recently confirmed species, or management and control of established species. The 2026 priorities include prevention and limiting spread, early detection and response, and support for Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs). Proposals should address at least one priority and contribute to Michigan’s aquatic or terrestrial invasive species management plans.
